Today, NVCA officially released its annual venture capital statistics yearbook, prepared by Thomson Reuters. This most recent edition features analysis and extensive data tables on the major trends affecting the industry. The NVCA 2010 Yearbook contains charts on fundraising, industry resources and sizing, investment, valuations, and exits. Followers of NVCA's quarterly data reports know that the industry downsized in 2009, driven largely by the exit of capital and firms created during the 2000 tech bubble. This consolidation is not unexpected. The newer, smaller industry is reflected across the board in statistics for each key ecosystem metric.
