As the economy struggles towards recovery, venture-backed start-ups continue to do their part in creating U.S. jobs. According to the online job board StartUpHire.com, the first two months of 2010 demonstrated strong momentum in terms of new and filled employee positions at our country’s emerging growth companies. According to site statistics, as of the end of February 2010 there were:
The critical number here is the churn, which equates to an average of more than 3,000 positions filled as 3,750 new venture-backed jobs are added each month. Last year, more than 35,000 jobs were created by venture-backed companies posting on StartUp Hire. These statistics offer a micro view of the total venture-backed company universe, which is presumably higher. Start up company jobs can be listed by venture capital firms or their portfolio companies on StartUphire.com for free. The site is well trafficked with 8,000 visits each day. Firms and companies can also use the StartUpHire engine to publicize jobs on their own websites. And if you are looking to work at one of the thousands of venture-backed companies now hiring across the country, be sure to visit StartUpHire.com. Questions or comments on this post?
