Today President Barack Obama traveled to OPOWER, an Arlington, VA based venture-backed start-up, to offer remarks on the importance of clean energy jobs. OPOWER is a 75-person Smart Grid and Energy Efficiency software company that partners with utilities to help people use less energy by giving them better information. The company plans to add 100 new people in 2010 and is an excellent example of how venture-backed companies are helping to solve two of our country's most pressing issues -- job creation and energy efficiency. We at the NVCA look forward to future opportunities to showcase these highly promising, emerging growth companies with the Administration and Congress as we move forward this year.
